Welcome to Waterside Cottages

On the banks of the River Hamps and with direct access to the Manifold Trail through the farm gate, Waterside Cottages @ Brown End Farm offer one bedroom (two people; double room) and three bedroom (five people; double room, twin room and single room) acccommodation options, with plenty of on-site parking. There is also a small nature reserve at the entrance to Brown End Farm on the site of the old quarry.

Situated in the village of Waterhouses, Waterside Cottages are easily reached from both Ashbourne and Leek, lying halfway between these historic market towns which provide a range of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as regular and popular markets. The surrounding villages provide a range of pubs and other places to eat, including within walking distance.

The Manifold Trail is a popular walking and cycling route along the path of the old railway line, taking you deep into the Peak District towards Hulme End and Harrington, past the impressive Thor’s Cave and the tea rooms at Wetton Mill. Ilam Hall is the closest National Trust property, with other local attractions including the Roaches rock formations and Tittesworth Reevervoir, Dovedale and its famous stepping stones across the River Dove and of course, the thrills and spills of Alton Towers. The cottages are also a great base for venturing further into the Peak District, with Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock providing scenic drives.
